This site is operated by ZENOM Kft. (Hungary), which is the data controller for the processing described below.

The IBAN you type

Any IBAN or account number you enter into the tools on this site is processed exclusively inside your browser, by JavaScript delivered with the page. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party, not logged, and not stored anywhere - there is no server component that could receive it. When you close or reload the page, it is gone. You can verify this: open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab, and type an IBAN - no outgoing request will contain it.

One request the checker may make, so you are not surprised when you see it: after an IBAN validates, the tool may fetch a static bank-name list for that IBAN's country from this site (a file such as /data/banks/de.json) to show the bank's name and BIC. The only thing that request reveals is a two-letter country code in the URL - never the IBAN, the account number or the bank code, which are matched against the list inside your browser. These files are ordinary static assets served by the same host, and the fetch happens at most once per country per page view.

Data we do process

This is a static website. Our hosting provider processes standard web server logs (IP address, requested URL, user agent, timestamp) for security and operations, as any web host does; these logs never contain anything you typed into the tools. The site itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics by default.

One functional preference is kept in your browser's local storage: which tool tab (checker, calculator, generator) you used last, under the keyibanguardian-preferred-tab, so your preferred tool opens first on your next visit. It stores only the tab name -- never anything you typed -- it never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Advertising (when enabled)

We plan to fund the site with advertising (Google AdSense). Before any advertising or measurement script loads for visitors in the EEA/UK, a certified consent management platform will ask for your consent under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework, and scripts load only according to your choice. Advertising scripts never receive the contents of the tool inputs; the tools do not change behaviour based on consent.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. Because we hold no data about your tool usage, in most cases there is nothing for us to look up; for anything related to hosting logs or future advertising, contact us via the contact page and we will respond.
